Lion and leopard
The Serengeti has some of the highest lion densities in Africa, and its riverine trees and kopjes are prime leopard territory, especially in the central Seronera area.
Elephant and buffalo
Tarangire is famous for very large elephant herds, while buffalo are common across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara.
The elusive rhino
Black rhino are the hardest of the five to find. The Ngorongoro Crater offers the best and most reliable chance to see them in northern Tanzania.
